New Initiatives Department organised a training program on Implementation of Moodle in NISH. The program was attended by all the faculty members of ASLP, DHI and DECSE courses. The trainer was Mr. Thomas Abraham, M.Tech. Mr. Abraham is right now doing 2 months voluntary work in NISH.
NISH conducted a CRE programme for Audiologists and Special Educators on 'Auditory Verbal Therapy as an Option for Early Intervention and Developing Expressive and Receptive Language' on March 9th & 10th , 2015.
NISH College Union and the Students Club, Karma and Bhoomithrasena Club together organised an event for promoting the spirit of 35th National Games. Nearly 60 deaf undergraduates and hearing students participated in the event by creating a sand sculpture at Shanghumukham Beach on February 13, 2015 based on the theme 'National Games'. The student volunteers of Karma cleaned the beachfront while the BFA students lead the sand sculpture.

Support in English Spoken Skills (SEPS) is a new initiative by NISH. Any ASLP student of NISH who likes to hone his/her skills in spoken English can use the service of SEPS. The objective of SEPS program is to improve the English speaking skill of students in the college setup, therapy room setup and in work place. Help and guidance provided by staff of English Dept. SEPS commences on 23rd January with an introductory class by Prof. VijayaKumar. Classes will be handled by Ms. Arathi Suvindu assisted by Ms. Souparnika. The classes will be held every alternate Fridays from 3.45 to 4.30 pm.
