The Student Design Challenges (SDC) at the EMPOWER conference 2023 encourage students and early-stage innovators to contribute to the growing assistive technology sector across India and Global South. A premier conference, EMPOWER 2023 will bring together stakeholders from across the country and abroad and provide a highly effective platform for engaging in early-stage discussions on assistive technology development. There are five problem statements that teams can choose from this year's SDC. Every team will be expected to develop a working/design prototype to address the specific problem they choose. A team of mentors will be available to provide guidance to the teams at identified stages during the solution conceptualization/design process. Winning teams will get an opportunity to attend EMPOWER 2023 at IIT Madras Research Park and present their ideas to a distinguished panel of experts in the assistive technology space.
