1. Academic Council

Academic Council employ and monitor effective strategies for curriculum development, teaching learning methods and train the staff on recent technological and conceptual advancement in curriculum management​. It was constituted on 7/2/2014.

2. Access Hub

Access Hub is a web resource on disability in India developed by NISH in collaboration with School of Information, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, CIS Bangalore and Inclusive Planet Chennai. Launched in June 2014, there is a team involved in maintaining and updating the website regularly with the policies, service providers, news etc.

3. Alumni Association

The NISH Alumni association aims to strengthen professional networking and foster mutually beneficial interaction between the alumni and the present students. It also provides information about the current activities at NISH.

4. Anti-Ragging Committee:

As per the directions of Supreme Court of India, UGC regulations and the University of Kerala,

an anti-ragging committee and anti-ragging squad was constituted in 2010 at NISH. Directions regarding members of committee, members of squad and steps to be taken to curb ragging at NISH are followed as per directions from time to time.

5. Cafeteria Committee

The Cafeteria committee aims to provide tasty and quality food at reasonable prices. It ensures high standards of food safety and hygiene in relation to the preparation, storage and serving of food at the cafeteria consistent with the national Food Standards. It was formulated on 12/6/2010.

6. Committee to Address Sexual Harassment at NISH (CASH-NISH)

CASH-NISH has been constituted by the Executive Director on 19/03/2001 and has staff representatives and a representative of an NGO. This committee has no student representatives. This committee will oversee complaints from employees, students or visitors regarding sexual harassment at NISH. A sub-committee will perform the investigation and report to CASH-NISH so as to review and take appropriate action.

7. Core Operations Group (COG)

COG is Executive Director’s Core Operations Group. This is formed to discuss matters related to the campus in general as well as those related to academics, administration and finance and to arrive at decisions.  A student representative is given permission to present grievances, if any, of the student community. The group formulated in July 2011.

8.  Internal Auditors Committee

The purpose of the Internal Auditors’ Committee is to perform internal audits to check how the quality management system of the Institute is working. Internal audit is conducted twice a year. Internal Auditors committee was formulated on 13/1/13.

9. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The objective of the IQAC is to develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the Institute and to promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices. It was formulated on 28/05/2015.

10. Knowledge Enhancement and Learning Programme (KELP)

The programme started with the aim of accelerating the online activities that will enhance the knowledge of staff. It is intended to motivate the staff to utilize the available online resources effectively. This includes sharing the interesting TED Talks, information about MOOC courses, you tube videos etc.

13. Research Authority Review

Any research study done at NISH will have to be submitted first to the Review Authority for Research (RAR) beforehand and the team will review and suggest modifications or corrections as required. The final approval is required before start of the research study. It was formulated in December, 2011.

14. Scholarship Committee

The scholarship committee constituted by the Executive Director consists of HODs of the different academic programs at NISH. The scholarship fund is raised from willing donors either through corpus funds created by them or by one time or regular contributions. NISH Scholarship fund is to provide financial support for academically brilliant but financially needy students at NISH. The committee was formulated on 6/9/2012.

16. STEPP - Structured and Timely Empowerment Program for Parents of PwD

 The Structured and Timely Empowerment Program for Parents (STEPP) of persons with disabilities is a project undertaken by NISH as per proposal approved by the State Initiative on Disabilities on 30th January 2015. As the name suggests, this program aims to provide timely support to parents when a child is identified with a disability and also to empower the parents to become resource persons for their children. It was formulated on  24th November, 2014.
