National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates to work in following positions. Educational qualifications alone will not suffice, as these positions are for serving special needs populations. Commitment and a desire to make a difference in the lives of the special population will be needed to be successful in the below positions. Some specialized training may be required for some positions and the candidate will become eligible for employment after successful completion of the training at NISH.
1. Indian Sign Language (ISL) teacher
Qualification: Deaf candidates with Degree in any subject and ‘C’ level certificate issued by RCI in Indian Sign Language. Those who have passed the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sign Language Studies (BAASLS) course will be given preference. Preference will also be given to those who have experience in teaching Indian Sign Language.
2. Indian Sign language interpreter/Instructor
Qualification: Candidates with Degree in any subject and A, B & C level certificate in Indian Sign Language or successfully completed Diploma in Indian Sign Language and Interpreting (DISLI). Fluency in Malayalam and/or English is preferred. Preference will be given to those who have experience in Sign Language Interpreting.
